When we came to Sanitasole it was like instant love. They have given Mom a real quality of life. It’s a wonderful feeling when they’re safe and having fun. It gives me a little bit of free time during the day and now Mom has something to talk about when she comes home. At 87, my mother is treated like a queen at Sanitasole.

They do arts and crafts and Mom really connects with this. She loves giving gifts. At Christmas she made a bird house and everybody told her how beautiful it was. How special is that!  

And she’s with her peers -that’s what I love. She loves coming here. Mom was so use to the routine of getting up and getting dressed and getting out. She worked all her life. She was secretary to the vice president of a hospital, so this routine is familiar to her.     

It’s true, this program doesn’t compare to the one she attends back home in Connecticut. They do more one-on-one here; play games, the crafts –even breakfast in the morning. I worked in a nursing home for 15 years. I know how critical stimulation is. With early stage Alzheimer’s, Mom has not gone into a decline because of this program. People need to know this is here.

This isn’t like the Senior Center that Mom goes to back home. You can’t even compare the two. This is her life here. I wish more men would join. Mom would love that!

When we take Mom to the Yacht Club with us for dinner, everyone wants to know how things are at Sanitasole.

And the friends she’s made! What I love, too, is the exercise she does. Mother has neuropathy. She loves the chair exercises and lifting weights.

Sanitasole has made my wife’s daycare experience a pleasurable time. I was shocked when one day she did not want to leave for home. I’m amazed at all the amenities they have here. Unbelievable! Paula and Richard and staff are real pros.
